Recent studies have revealed that more and more children today are spending endless hours (approx. over seven) on different media such as cell phones, music players and ipods and the internet rather than any kind of outdoor activities. The RBFF (The Recreational Boating and fishing Foundation) have discovered this fall in the large numbers of youngsters from boating and related activities and their concerns had led them to come up with their campaign- the Take Me Fishing campaign. This non profit organization has begun work through different kinds of outreach programs that operate on a national level to help attract more and more people from the younger generation to be interested in boating and angling and related outdoor water activities.

Even this new year, the foundation has already begun their work to get the youngsters excited about these activities and they are doing so by introducing the Take me Fishing campaign again this Spring whereby they will be able to interact with younger people and families to get them to spend some time boating and angling. They are going to begin the first leg of the campaign by featuring in the Miami Boat show for which they have also roped in ESPN’s Jose Wejebe and also Aaron MCAlexander- the master caster so that they would be able to mingle with the families visiting the show and encourage them into taking up boating and fishing as a sport or even as a recreational activity. Hopefully they are successful in their mission to encourage such outdoor activities.
