Olivia Palermo’s Sergio Rossi Python Satchel
by on Dec.25, 2009, under Fashion
For awhile I was thinking to myself “does Olivia Palermo ever look bad??” Every time she is photographed she looks flawless (though unsurprisingly I”ve seen her in person and she is completely caked in makeup when you see her up-close). I”ve noticed now though that every single photo I”ve seen/written about where she looks fierce, was taken on a day she was filming The City.not to take away from the fact that there”s no denying the girl knows how to dress, just think it”s funny now to watch the show and recognize pretty much everything she”s wearing! On the left she”s pictured in Sergio Rossi”s Python Satchel another spot-on choice that really livens us her outfit. I love going with a monochromatic dark outfit and then adding a splash of color with my accessories; it”s a great winter look (particularly when you can coordinate your bag with your shoes!).
What do you think about Olivia”s look?
Cute & Chic Stars of the Year
by on Dec.23, 2009, under Fashion
Though the street-style blog and supermodel mania threatened to dethrone the celebrity (and her stylist) from her place in the Glossy Zeitgeist this year, front rows at all the big fashion shows were full of celebrity candy, reminding us of the symbiotic relationship fashion shares with the entertainment industry, and the media was there to capture the moments.
Lily Allen performing at Chanel, Burberry’s spring/summer front row and Jennifer Lopez in a dress by Victoria Beckham are but three images etched into our glossy-consuming collective consciousness. Note that all the women were wearing clothes, which is very trendy now. Never has Paris Hilton seemed so passe.
There were a few constants amongst the celebrity bunch who consistently inspired (note none of them are named Suri Cruise). Though I’ve only chosen six of them for this celebratory post, other honorable mentions must go to Miranda Kerr, Isabel Lucas, Taylor Swift, Emma Watson and local lass Lara Bingle, and also to my fall-back girls Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba, Natalie Portman and Penelope Cruz.
Chloe Sevingy can seriously do no wrong (almost – sometimes her shorts threaten to disappear up her…), especially while wearing Miu Miu; Leighton Meester has been rocking some scary looks of late, but she’s young, rich and experimental; Olivia Palermo proves that reality TV stars can have class; Diane Kruger is just about everyone’s favourite dresser; Alexa Chung was arguably the most influential girl of the year (in the absence of Mary-Kate and Ashley and Nicole Richie); and leggy Whitney Port left Lauren Conrad in her City wake.
Trendy Winter Hairstyles
by on Dec.01, 2009, under Fashion
Trendy winter hairstyles are a great way to kick off the celebration of the Yuletide season. As 2009 draws to a close, updating your hairstyle by keeping up with the latest trends during the winter season is a perfect way to end the year with a bang. Unfortunately, the cold weather can make managing your hair rather challenging that many women think twice about getting their hair done in the latest trendy winter hairstyles. But caring for your hair during this cold season does not have to be a drag. Here are just a few tips to help you out.
It Starts in the Shower
Proper hair care during the winter season is the first step in making sure that you keep your hair manageable and your hairstyles easy to maintain with hair straighteners. The cold breeze and chilly temperatures can easily make your hair dry especially when you go outside. Choose a shampoo and conditioner that provides extra moisturizing and conditioning for your hair strands particularly during this time of the year.
Taming Your Hair Down
Whether you are supporting straight or curly trendy winter hairstyles, it is important to make sure that you apply the right hair styling products that would keep your hairstyle in place while preventing your hair from frizzing up because of the weather. You can easily purchase anti-frizzhair styling products in your local hair and body shop or over the Internet. If you are supporting a curly hairstyle, make sure that the anti-frizz hairstyling products you get are specially formulated for curly hair since curly hair tends to frizz up more than straight hair. You also can use good hair straightener as they are capable of making your rough and frizzy hair more manageable apart from straightening. Right straighteners will leave your hair quality like you have never seen before. Your hair will become more silky and shiny.
Make sure you are always up-to-date with the latest fashionable hairstyles with a pair of genuine ghd hair straighteners.

Celebrity Style : The Gerard Darel Effect
by on Nov.13, 2009, under Fashion

Gerard Darel, created in 1971, was once a little-known fashion house established in France. And now? Having already gained quite the European following, it seems the French label is now the go-to boutique for boho loving celebs across the Atlantic!
The first Gerard Darel shop opened in Paris in 1987 and over recent years the luxury fashion brand has expanded across the globe, helping to bring Parisian chic to the masses. In 2004, the brand launched its very own leather goods range which has since become a firm favourite among Hollywood A-listers including Kristen Bell, Eva Longoria and Jessica Alba who have all been pictured with Gerard Darel handbags dangling from the crook of their arm.
But it’s not just the luscious accessories that are causing a stir amongst the fashionable, Hollywood elite, oh no. One pouty lady in particular loves the collection of maxi dresses so much, that she’s even taken to stocking up on the children’s range for daughter Zahara.
When Angelina Jolie was papped in the mauve, tiered dress, she looked the picture of laid back chic. We love this bohemian number, which is panelled with sheer strips of purple fabric, adding sexiness to an otherwise simple, summer piece. Also available in solid colours (spotted on Ashley Simpson and the Jolie family among others), the style works as maternity wear as modelled by Jennifer Garner, and transcends well through the generations as demonstrated by Zahara in her matching, strappy floor-lengths.
